In Lamentations chapter two Jeremiah makes a statement to the nation of Israel that is shocking. Jeremiah tells them that God had become like their enemy. The nation was in rebellion, they were immoral in their relationships, and they were incorrect in their religion. God warned them about the way they were conducting themselves, but they refused to listen to His warning. Instead they pushed God further and further away.

Like the nation of Israel we in America are pushing God further and further away. Our nation is ignoring the warning of the Bible and the pulpit. The reason that our nation is pushing God away is because the people that make up the nation are away from God in their own hearts. If we do not turn back to God it will not be long before we make Him our enemy.
