In Matthew, Jesus sees Peter and his brother Andrew, fishing on the sea of Galilee. Jesus tells them to follow and He will make them fishers of men. Right away, Peter and Andrew left their nets and began to follow Jesus.
So many times God asks us to do something, or has a lesson to teach us while we are at our own sea of Galilee. Like Peter, we must exercise our faith, and leave other things behind to follow wherever God may lead us. When we first begin to know Him, God calls on our hearts to be saved. We are asked to leave our nets, or old lives, behind and begin to become what God has given us to be. As we mature in our Christianity, we learn that it is important to trust God through every storm, or trial, we may face. Later, we learn that although we fail Him, God’s love never fails us. God’s love for us, just as His love for Peter was, is unending. His love is unconditional.
