The second sermon of the series “Glimpses of Grace,” takes us through the importance of the meat offering. After the burnt sacrifice was made, the meat offering was given as an oblation for God blessing the burnt sacrifice.

Meat offerings consisted of the most refined flour with oil poured upon it and frankincense brought to the fire alongside it. The refined flour was ground, sifted, and cooked. The oil was poured over the flour to saturate it. The frankincense was added to give a sweet smell. Jesus was the refined flour of the offering, ground at the mill for our sins. The oil symbolizes His baptism, and how the Holy Spirit saturated His being after the baptism, and the frankincense was strictly for God. As Christians, it is important for us to bring our very best before God after the blood has been applied to our lives.
