In Galatians, the Galatians church had turned their backs on grace, and began to focus on works of the law as their salvation. The Galatians had seemingly forgotten about God’s grace as they had watched Jesus die on the cross at Calvary for their sins.
What the Galatians and many others tend to forget, is that without God’s grace, we cannot be saved. God’s grace is an unwavering promise that was made to Abraham, and cannot be broken. God’s grace is forever. Unlike grace, the law was given to Moses after the promise God had made to Abraham. The law was given to angels, then passed to Moses, and then onto the people, where grace was promised directly to Abraham. The law alone cannot save a soul. However, the law and grace work hand in hand for us all. The law prepares us for Christ by revealing our sin, and that’s when God’s grace comes into our lives as we ask Jesus Christ to be our savior.
