In this Sunday morning sermon, Pastor Joshua Sharp preaches on the importance of having faith in God’s word. During the journey to Canaan, the children of Israel come to the River Jordan. It’s swelled with swiftly moving currents, making it dangerous and unable to be crossed. God’s people are faced with a decision, either trust in God, or turn around.
The children of Israel chose to trust in God, following His plan. They follow the ark of the covenant as it is led first across the river, where God places a dam, stopping the waters from flowing so that they might pass into Canaan. Just as God taught the children of Israel, it is important for us to remember, if God brings us to a situation in our lives, He will lead us through it and provide more than enough for us to make it through. We must place our faith in Him to guide, protect, and keep us safe from harm.
