In Malachi, it is revealed that God is sending a messenger to prepare the way for Jesus. The message that would be broadcast is for everyone to repent and be ready for the Son of God to come.

Much like John’s message, our message today is very similar. It’s important that we repent of our sins, that we don’t let our sinful nature come between us and God. The day is coming when Jesus will be returning to bring judgement to all, this is why we need to not only repent ourselves, but reach out to others, so they are not lost. It is our responsibility as Christians to show others the right path by living everyday as if it is the day that Jesus is returning.
