In James, James shows us the importance of prayer by explaining several things that prayer can do. From healing the sick, to ending a drought, nothing is beyond the healing power of prayer.

As Christians, we need to be prepared to use prayer to minister to those who may not know about Christ, those who may be hurting, or those who may need advice for their future. A prayer request made aloud in a meeting of the congregation can unite an entire church family, or a simple prayer of forgiveness can help save a sinner. Whatever the prayer may be, it is important that we prepare through prayer ourselves, knowledge of scripture, and being sympathetic to all.
