In the heart of the city with a heart for your family

We believe that God left the church a living document as a record of His will and way. This document is made up with thirty-nine books of the Old Testament and twenty-seven books in the New Testament. We believe that the holy scriptures were inspired by God in their original form. Holy men of God moved to write the scriptures under the direction and influence of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the scriptures are not just inspired in thought, but that the very words of the Bible are inspired. It is our conviction that the scriptures are free from error and still have as much power today as they did thousands of years ago.

We also believe that God had a plan of preserving these scriptures from one generation to another. God’s word is forever settled in heaven and not one jot or tittle will fail. This perfect word has been preserved perfectly to this very day. It is our belief that God preserved His word for the English speaking people in the pages of the King James Version of the Bible.

God

We believe that there is one true God. The scriptures teach that God is sovereign, self existent, immutable, omnipresent, omnipotent, holy, and righteous. God is big enough to be everywhere at the same time, yet intimate enough to dwell in the hearts of those that trust in Him. God is the creator and sustainer of the all things. All things are made by Him and for His pleasure. We believe that this one true God is revealed to mankind through the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the second person of the Godhead and coequal with God the Father. Jesus Christ was born miraculously to a virgin and lived a perfect life. At the age of thirty-three Jesus offered His life freely upon Calvary’s cross. The Son of God, who knew no sin, became sin so that sinner can become the sons of God. After death Jesus laid in a borrowed tomb for three days, but He did not stay dead. On the third day He arose victorious over death. Today Jesus is seated as the Godman at the right hand of the majesty on high making intercession for the saints of God. We believe that Jesus will soon return to this earth to rapture those that have accepted Him.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead and is co-equal with both God the Father and God the Son. After the ascension of Jesus into heaven after His death the Holy Spirit was sent into the world. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. When a person accepts Christ as Savior, the Holy Spirit baptizes that person into Jesus Christ, indwells them, and seals them until the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit is our guide, comforter, counselor, teacher, and the source of all spiritual power found in the church.

The Condition of Man

According to the scriptures all men are born sinners. We are sinners by nature and we are sinners by choice. Man was created perfect in the image of God but because of the fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden the curse of sin passed upon all humanity. Because of this sin nature man is in rebellion against God, not searching for Him. We are imperfect at our very best and therefore unable to earn or merit salvation. The only hope for lost humanity is found in Jesus Christ.

Genesis 1:27, Genesis 2:16-17, Psalms 51:5, Romans 3:11, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12, Galatians 3:11

Salvation

The greatest need of mankind is salvation, but we are unable to meet this need on our own. The scriptures however give us hope. Jesus Christ shed his blood on Calvary’s cross and arose victorious over death to purchase salvation. With the price of salvation paid, the scriptures are clear that those who place their faith in Christ will be saved. Salvation is the gift of God given by grace through faith. Those that call upon the name of the Lord will be saved, their sins will be washed away in the blood of Christ, and they will be adopted into the family of God. Salvation is a one time event. Once a person is saved, they are saved eternally.

John 3:16, John 10:28-29, Romans 8:1, Romans 8:15, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5

The Second Coming

At the time of the rapture the Lord will descend from heaven and gather all those who have accepted Christ to be with Him. The rapture of the church is imminent and could happen at any moment.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, 1 Thessalonians 5:9

The Importance of the Local Church

The church is a group of called out, born-again, baptized believers who unite with one another for the purpose of worship, praise, prayer, fellowship, encouragement, and accountability. The church is given the responsibility to carry out the great commission and practice New Testament ordinances.
