This sermon in the series, ‘Corinthians,’ brings us back to Paul’s explanation of the resurrection’s importance to the Corinthian church. Paul asks an important question to the church, if Jesus didn’t rise up, what have we accomplished by being identified with Him?
Paul explains that it is essential that we understand that even as Jesus died for our sins, He overcame death and rose again. Without the foundational understanding and belief of resurrection, we have nothing. Paul continues on to explain that resurrection for us and our bodies doesn’t necessarily mean reconstruction. Although we may someday be resurrected, we will be given new bodies. Paul shows this with the illustration of a seed growing into a flower. What comes out of the ground is often times much more beautiful than what goes into it.
