This sermon in the series, “Tabernacle In The Wilderness,” our focus is shifted to the court and the gate. The court, also known as a fence, surrounded the tabernacle and separated the tabernacle from the outside world. The gate was the only opening to the fence, and stood thirty feet wide.
The fence surrounded the tabernacle to separate the outside world from the presence of God. However, the fence did have one very wide opening, explaining that even though the children of Israel were separated from God, there was one way, and only one way, that they could enter into His presence again, through the gate, Jesus Christ. The same message is true today. For us to have a relationship with God, we must first meet our savior, Jesus Christ.
