In Mark, Jesus and the disciples have just overcome a storm to reach the country of the Gadarenes. Within the city, they encounter a man who is possessed with a legion of demons. An outcast from the society there, he runs to Jesus and falls at His feet.
Where the rest of society had only seen a man who was possessed, a lunatic without hope, Jesus saw a man who needed His help. Isn’t it amazing to know that no matter how far we fall, Jesus still sees us as His own? No matter what demons we face, Jesus is still our Redeemer, and only He can set us free from the bondage of sin.
