In the heart of the city with a heart for your family

Jesus Will Take What You Have

The story of Jesus feeding the multitude is familiar to most of us. In this story we are presented with a great scene. There are multitudes that have gathered to hear Jesus speak. According to the text this group of people are lost. The Bible says they were like sheep having no shepherd. They have traveled to where Jesus was and have listened to Him preach an all day sermon, therefore they are hungry and tired. To make matters worse the scripture says that “the day was far spent” implying that darkness was closing in around them. In that moment Jesus looks for someone with something that can be used to help this multitude.

With a great need all around him a young lad steps forward and offers Jesus his small lunch. Most would have refused the gift because of it’s size, but Jesus did not. Jesus took what was offered to Him and with a little did a lot.

Jesus is still looking for men and women who are willing to offer God what they have no matter the size. In this sermon the pastor encourages us to give our all to Christ. Jesus will take what you have!
