In John, Jesus has been called to Bethany. Martha and Mary have just watched their brother, Lazarus, die. Four days after Lazarus dies, Jesus arrives in Bethany, and resurrects Lazarus, much to everyone’s surprise.

Jesus explained to Martha that He is the resurrection and the life. Because Jesus is the resurrection and the life, He conquered death after being crucified for our sins. He is the message that we should be sharing in order to breathe life into a cold, dead world.
