The coming of Christ is a fundamental truth in the pages of the Bible. While this truth is clearly taught there are still scoffers who deny this truth. In the first part of this chapter Peter takes these scoffers head on and boldly states that the Lord is coming.
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
