In Luke, Jesus has ceased praying, when one of his disciples asks him to teach them to pray. As we know, Jesus teaches the disciples to pray through what we now call, the Lord’s prayer.
The Lord’s prayer teaches us that as Christians, God should be the focus of our life. We should desire to be in the right relationship with God. A relationship requires effort, and that is why prayer is important for every Christian. As Jesus teaches the disciples, early on in the prayer, Jesus tells the disciples that they must pray for forgiveness as they forgive others. This teaches us that in order to have a deep relationship with God, we must be right with Him. If we are right with God, our desire will grow, and our relationship will become stronger.
