When the first church is formed in the early portion of the book of Acts it adopts a very unique form of living. Many of the church members sell land and possessions to help with the financial needs of the group. At the end of Acts 4, and the beginning of chapter 5 two groups step forward. We read about a helpful man named Barnabas, and a hypocritical couple named Ananias and Sapphira. In this sermon we examine both.
